Who We Are
SACRED is a nonprofit organization rooted in faith and driven by a mission to restore dignity, opportunity, and equity to impoverished and marginalized communities. Inspired by the legacy of Saint Anthony—patron saint of the lost and the poor—SACRED exists to bridge gaps in education, economic opportunity, and community healing by offering accessible, transformative services to those society often overlooks.
Our focus is on holistic restoration: not only meeting immediate needs but also equipping individuals and families with the tools, skills, and support systems necessary to create sustainable, purpose-driven lives. We center our work in neighborhoods where poverty, undereducation, and systemic neglect intersect, with an emphasis on youth, returning citizens, and low-income families.
What We Believe
Saint Anthony’s for Community Restoration and Educational Development (SACRED) is a faith-inspired nonprofit committed to restoring hope and equity in impoverished and marginalized communities through holistic education, family support, workforce readiness, and community revitalization programs.
Roots of Renewal: The Founding Story of Saint Anthony’s
SACRED was founded by Anthony Sessoms and a committed Board of Directors, united by a common belief: that every person, regardless of background or zip code, deserves access to opportunity, dignity, and hope.
The idea for SACRED emerged in response to the deepening challenges facing many underserved and marginalized communities—rising poverty, failing educational systems, unstable housing, and generational inequities. As a faith-inspired leader and community advocate, Mr. Sessoms witnessed firsthand the barriers holding individuals and families back. He knew that real transformation required more than charity—it demanded holistic, sustainable change rooted in community voice and guided by compassionate service.
Together with a passionate Board of Directors, Anthony laid the foundation for SACRED as a nonprofit dedicated to restoring hope and equity through four key pillars: educational enrichment, workforce/leadership readiness, family/community revitalization, and civic engagement/advocacy. Their goal was not only to address immediate needs but to rebuild the systems and relationships that create long-term stability and empowerment.
Since its founding, SACRED has become a trusted presence in the community—bridging gaps, building partnerships, and walking alongside those it serves. Inspired by the legacy of Saint Anthony, known for his care for the poor and marginalized, SACRED continues to be a beacon of restoration, rooted in faith and driven by action.
What started as a vision has grown into a movement—changing lives, restoring communities, and creating pathways to a more just and hopeful future.
